You can thank the passionate and skilled volunteers of the Hemnes Trekking Association that you can stay in a beautiful, cosy cabin during your adventure in the Okstindan mountains.
The Hemnes chapter of the Norwegian Trekking Association (DNT) was founded in 1978, and its goal was simple: to promote great outdoor adventures in the Hemnes area. Prior to this date, Hemnes was one of many areas under the regional Rana and Helgeland chapter of DNT. The oldest of these was founded in 1902.
The Hemnes Trekking Association operates four cabins and two emergency shelters in the Okstindan mountains. The association also improves the network of marked trails and offers organised hikes.
Every Thursday the café at Korgen offices of the Hemnes Trekking Association is open to the public. Please feel free to drop by for a chat with fellow adventure enthusiasts!
