Bjerka Camping is idyllically situated in tranquil surroundings right by the Bjerka river. Even so, it is conveniently accessible, being only a few hundred metres from highway E6 and the Bjerka Railway Station.
In the summer of 2023, new local drivers took over the campsite and gave it a real facelift. The siblings Arnela and Amer promise a good atmosphere and a pleasant stay for the young and the old.
Here, in the heart of the Okstindan Nature and Culture Park, you have a perfect base from which to take satisfying day excursions and explore the area. If you are keen on hiking and eager to explore new mountains, you can literally just choose any compass direction. Numerous attractive peaks are within walking distance from Bjerka Camping. If you prefer a less strenuous walk in the lowlands, just take a stroll along the river and fjord. Do bring your swimsuit, especially on a hot summer day, for you may well be tempted to take a dip! Or perhaps you would rather bring your fishing rod?
You can buy good food and snacks for your hike from the reception, or from the Coop Prix supermarket nearby. When you return, you can prepare your own dinner in the well-equipped shared kitchen, or treat yourself to a hearty meal at Bjerka Kro, which is just a stone’s throw away.
