Fjord trips on MK “Remi Ketil”

Thanks to the hard work, long hours and great skill of members of the local community, this veteran fishing boat is being restored and prepared for new adventures.

The Hemnes Historical Boatbuilders Association (HBBF) is the proud owner of this 64-foot fishing boat, which was built in Hemnesberget in 1967 and has now returned home. The passionate members of the association are hard at work restoring the vessel. By the summer of 2023, eager locals and appreciative visitors can expect to be able to sail the fjord on board MK “Remi Ketil”.

The objective of the Historical Boatbuilders Association is to use this boat for local trips and events, as a museum vessel, and as a means to teach a younger generation about the local ship-building heritage and maritime technology. Now students, tourists and groups of local residents will be able to book fishing trips and sightseeing on the fjord and along the coast.
