Every winter around Easter, snowmobile enthusiasts and people who appreciate other winter sports head up to the friendly mountain village of Bleikvasslia. What draws them is the annual Bleikvasslia Winter Festival. The most intrepid snowmobilers sign up for the Hill Climb Challenge.
If you prefer to avoid the roar of snowmobiles, you will find good company as you participate in the ice fishing competition, race down alpine slopes, or enjoy good conversation with friends and locals over a hearty meal at the old schoolhouse.
The winter festival lasts about a week, with different activities every day. It is a collaboration between enthusiasts, various teams and associations, and the business community of Bleikvasslia.
