Svartebukta – a popular recreation area

Svartebukta is a pleasant park not far from the village of Korgen. Here are nice trails, tables and chairs, barbecues, a playground, exercise apparatus and an outdoor stage.

The park is situated at a lake cove called Svartebukta, at the start of the Wilderness Road (Villmarksveien) and near Korgen’s community centre (Samfunnhus). Families and young and old come here to picnic, walk around the shore, play or get some exercise.

During the Korgen Summer Festival and other cultural events, concerts are held at the beautiful outdoor stage. On dark evenings, the stage, which resembles an inverted ship, is beautifully illuminated in colours that give a very special ambience.

The park offers barbecue facilities, tables and benches, playground equipment and exercise apparatus. There are public toilets but these are not open year round. Stages in the park can be rented from Hemnes municipality for private events.

Svartebukta is a place from which to start a nice walk on the marked trail along the salmon river Røssåga or up to the old stone bridge at Sjøforsen. If you are eager for a longer hike, just follow the signs that show a circuit hike of 6 or 8 km.

You can buy all the supplies you need for your picnic at Korgensenteret, a shopping centre a kilometre away from the park.
