Stekvasselv Gård is located on the waterfront of Nord-Røssvatnet with Okstindan and Okstindbreen as a backdrop and is an excellent base for those who want to explore the area. The terrain is varied and offers countless hiking opportunities both summer and winter – from gentle valleys to mountain and peak climbing – and glacier hiking for the experienced.
In the fall, the area is popular with small game hunters. The place is also a natural stop for those hiking the length of Norway along the "Nordlandsruta" - or for those who want to hike around Okstindan on the trail network around the mountain massif.
The farm offers two fully equipped houses for rent with everything you need for self-catering and free internet. Each house can accommodate up to 10 people. Catering is available by arrangement, and for those who want a trip on the water, boat and canoe rentals are available.
We, the hosts at Stekvasselv Gård, Kari and Håkon Økland, are now retired and no longer have animals on the farm, but we still welcome tourists as the farm has done for almost 100 years.
