Stekvasselv Farm is beautifully situated by Røssvatnet lake. With the Okstindan mountains and Okstindbreen glacier in the background, this is a great base from which to explore. The entire area is magnificent, with varied terrain – gentle valleys, high mountains, glaciers, and rivers and lakes. Whether you visit during the summer or winter, the nearby countryside is ideal for many different adventures. You can, for instance go fishing, hike summits, or join an expert guide for a trek on the glacier.
During the autumn, the area is popular with small game hunters. Intrepid hikers that are following the long trail called Nordlandsruta, or hiking the Okstindan massif, will welcome an overnight stay at Stekvasselv Farm.
The farm offers two fully-equipped houses that have everything you need for self-catering, as well as free wi-fi internet. Each house sleeps up to ten people. Dining is available if you order your meals in advance. Boat and canoe rental is available, giving you the opportunity to fish your own dinner.
Your hosts at Stekvasselv, Kari and Håkon Økland, no longer raise livestock on their farm, but they continue the farm’s century-old tradition of providing hospitality for guests from near and far.
