Every year, at the beginning of August, eager enthusiasts set up various arenas on Hemnesberget and prepare for a three-day music festival!
The Hemnesjazz club was named "Jazz Club of the Year" by the Norwegian Jazz Forum in 2016, and has its own clubhouse. JernvarenIn other words, here are people with flair who organize the festival.
Many famous artists and bands have performed memorable concerts over the years. At the same time, up-and-coming stars have played at the Hemnesjazz festival before the rest of the world knew who they were. It is no coincidence that talented musicians have shared their good words about the reception and the experience.
During the festival, the waterfront is bustling with life, and outdoor concerts at Lapphella, Hundneset and Bakken are something in themselves. Other venues include Jernvaren, Kirka and Parken, which offer unique settings for great music experiences.
Every festival has its own unique character. Hemnesjazz has always tried to combine musical quality with social well-being. The fact that the festival is rooted in the village, between the houses, is important here. The different stages, catering venues and meeting points are spread out. This means that people are on the move, while the atmosphere changes character depending on where you are. In short, a vibrant interaction where the music, the food, the people, the houses, the streets, the fjord and the mountains form a unique whole.
In 2021, the Lapphella Kulturarena was inaugurated, and the following year, the outdoor stage Bakken at Jernvaren was granted. These arenas – designed by our local, successful architectural firm Tanken Arkitektur – has been set up through diligent volunteer efforts.
