Statskog is Norway and Helgeland's largest landowner, and manages large contiguous areas and assets on behalf of the community. In Okstindan Nature and Culture Park, Statskog has prepared the outdoor recreation area around Stormyrbassenget, an eldorado for fishing and birdwatching. Here they rent out both a cabin and a boathouse. Statskog also offers a fishing lodge in Spjeltfjelldalen and many fine fishing opportunities.
Here you can fish for char and trout on state land in mountain lakes on Korgfjellet, in Stormyrbassenget and in Røssvatnet.
Statskog rents out the cabin "Lomtjønnstua", between Korgen and Bleikvasslia. Stormyrbassenget is located 50 meters south of the cabin and is an eldorado for ice fishing in winter, with large, fine trout and char. In summer, it is idyllic to go fishing in a rowboat on the pool. Statskog also rents out a boathouse with a boat at Stormyrbassenget. Keys can be collected from Circle K in Korgen, but you must pre-order via Statskog.
Important to remember
If you are going to fish for salmon, sea trout or sea char in waterways or with fixed gear in the sea, you must pay the state fishing fee. Children and young people under the age of 18 do not have to pay a fishing fee.
Statskog has one fishing license for state land outside of state commons in Southern Norway. Anyone can fish for inland fish with a rod and line. When fishing with other fishing gear such as nets and otters, you must familiarize yourself with local fishing regulations.
