Kamkake baking & café at Bygdetunet

From Tuesday to Saturday between 12:00 and 15:00 in the period July 1st to July 26th, young people bake the traditional local cake kamkaka over an open flame in the Kamkakestua at Bygdetunet in Bjerka. Here you can also get a taste of the funny kamkake song from Klemetspelet. If you are tempted by fresh kamkaka and coffee, it is offered in the Kamkakekaféen in the pleasant premises in Storfjøsen. Both Kamkakstua and Storfjøsen have ramps, which makes access easier for everyone, both with and without wheels. It will be possible to buy kamkakas to take with you, but preferably at the end of the day.

From July 29th to August 9th, Bygdetunets Venner will be taking over the kamkake baking, and there will be an opportunity to buy kamkakes to take home. The café in Storfjøsen is not open during this period, but there will be an opportunity to buy coffee and kamkake outside at Kamkakestua.

Outdoor exhibition about Charles Rabot
In 2024 it was 10 years since Rabothytta opened. On this occasion, Helgeland Museum offers more knowledge about the man behind the name, the Frenchman Charles Rabot. Out in the yard is a free, XNUMX-hour exhibition that tells more about his exciting life, and his connection to both Fridtjof Nansen, Klemet and Okstindan.
