John Pål Inderberg & Bjørn Alterhaug

Saxophonist John Pål Inderberg and bassist Bjørn Alterhaug are among the most respected jazz musicians in Norway. During more than 50 years of collaboration in various combinations, the idea to create a duo album – 'Stripped Down – Leisurely – Thoughtful' came earlier this year.

Inderberg received the Buddy Prize, an annual award in Norwegian jazz, in 1999, the Gammeleng Prize in 2005 and the Lindemann Prize in 2010 – to name a few. The baritone and soprano saxophonist has a flair for spontaneous musical expression. He is also behind Steinkaret – an immersive experience space in the new cultural center in Steinkjer, which opens in the fall.

Bjørn Alterhaug from Ranvær was proclaimed jazz musician of the year in Norway as early as 1975, received the Spellemannsprisen in 1979 for the album "Moments", received the Gammeleng Prize in 1989 and received the Sør-Trøndelag County Cultural Prize together with John Pål Inderberg in 2011.
