Event description
The art project Earth Shapes was shown on Hovedøya near Oslo in the summer of 2018, with great success. Now Hemnes Kunstforening is ensuring that the exhibition is shown for the first time in the area where the inspiration came from, and where most of the photos were taken.
Ketil Born’s art project is a poetic and visual exploration of the relationship between the human body and nature. Born’s goal with the project is to unite the human and the natural, and to express man as part of nature. He describes it as a “grateful tribute to Mother Earth – a play with lines, shapes and movement, with fragility and the permanent.”
The series was started about five years ago and is mainly photographed in Rana and Hemnes in Northern Norway. The exhibition, which consists of 14 images plotted on weather-resistant material, has a sound backdrop created by Sverre Knut Johansen. The audience will also have the pleasure of seeing two images that have never been exhibited before.
The exhibition is part of Hemnes Kunstforening's Fotosafari project, which shows photos from Hemnesberget's association/cultural life. Lapphella Kulturarena shows photos by Isak Brun, a young photographer who spends much of his free time photographing beautiful nature images, while Mologalleriet has an exhibition with Tore M Furuhatt, who has selected photos from his long active work as a photographer at Hemnesberget.
Welcome to a walk in the art of photography!
