Café and baking of «kamkake» at Hemnes Bygdetun in Bjerka

A stone's throw from the E6 at Bjerka is Bygdetunet. Here, Helgeland Museum is open from Tuesday to Saturday between 10:00 – 16:00.

In the summer of 2023, Møllehuset, which was moved here from Korgen a few years ago, will be used to make the local bread, kamkake. For three weeks in August, from Tuesday to Saturday between 12:00 and 15:00, local youth will show you how to make kamkake.

In addition to seeing and tasting, you will learn which side the butter should be on, whether the kamkake is best hard or soft, which toppings you should use, whether it should be fine or coarse... and how the different villages make their kamkaka...
