Despite the fact that we have many beautiful rivers, fjords and lakes, there is no organized canoe or kayak rental here. However, if you are staying at Korgen Camping or Bjerka Camping, it is possible to arrange directly with them to use their canoes. If you are staying at Steikvasselv Gård, they also offer canoe use on a mountain lake with panoramic views of Okstindan.
Bleikvassli Village Association also has access to canoes and kayaks, so it is possible to contact them to borrow both equipment and trailers (tel. 993 84 072).
There are many great areas to paddle in around Bleikvasslia. Here you will find everything from narrow rivers that wind through beautiful mountain scenery, to Røssvatnet, Norway's second largest lake. It is also nice to paddle between the islands in Stormyrbassenget, an artificial lake on a trip along the Wilderness Road down towards Korgen.
Another exciting trip is down the Røssåga River from Korgen and all the way to the mouth of the Sørfjord. This is a trip of around 10 kilometers where the river winds through forest and farmland until it opens up into a fjord landscape where you can choose to paddle to Bjerka, Finneidfjord or all the way to Hemnesberget. If you have your own boat, you must remember to respect the rules for disinfection, since the Røssåga is a salmon-bearing river. You will find a disinfection station at the reception at Korgen Camping.
Keen kayakers can often be seen at Hemnesberget, where they often set off from the quay in Oldervika. From here, many paddle along the waterfront and marina, and on to the mainland on the other side. A popular trip is to cross over to Hestneset, park the boat and stroll up the area's own Trolltunga, "Næpa" or "Nepsteinen".
